My cat is acting different, but not sick?

My cat Lily who is 4 years old has always followed me every where and loved her afternoon outings. The last couple of days, she hasn%26#039;t wanted to go out and lays in the hallway or on my bed licking her front paws. She%26#039;s eating and using the literbox, but is just so different. Could she be sick or what?

Any behavioural change could indicate something else is going on. Her licking her paws could indicate quit afew things. Take her to the vet and have them examine her just to be on the safe side. Good luck
Reply:If it%26#039;s hot where you are, she may simply be unwilling to go out into the heat. Since she%26#039;s licking her paws, you might check them for injuries. Is it possible that she burned them on a hot sidewalk or parking lot? Look for cuts, thorns, and similar problems as well.

If she starts to refuse food and/or lose weight or have litter-box problems, I%26#039;d get her to the vet; for now, just keep an eye on her.

Good luck!
Reply:Maybe its too hot out?
Reply:well its hard to say for sure, but since she%26#039;s had such an abrupt very apparent change in attitude, i would take her in just in case. better safe than sorry
Reply:It%26#039;s just getting older. Cats change. I also could be the weather.
Reply:ready to mate?
Reply:Has it been unusually hot for the past few days? If so, that could be the culprit. If not, then I think you should just take her to the vet for an exam to rule out any medical problems.
Reply:If she is an indoor/outdoor cat and hasn%26#039;t been vaccinated she could have caught something from an animal outside, I hope she is fixed. Take her to the vet if she is not vaccinated or just take her to get a check-up sounds bizarre, and a bit worrisome.
Reply:She may have been frightened or intimidated by another cat outisde.
Reply:Not a good idea bringing your kitty outdoors. I hope shes vaccinated against Feline Leukemia and rabies at least. Even if you don%26#039;t see any strays they would%26#039;ve sprayed near the places she walks and that%26#039;s enough to spread some nasty disease onto your cat. Honestly, cats should be indoors.

If she doesn%26#039;t seem right for a week or so and the weather isn%26#039;t extremely humid or hot.

I always say trust your gut and run her into the vet for a checkup.

See whats happens when you try to play with her. Does she seem winded if she runs. Does she walk unsteady. Is she still eating the same quantity as before? Poop OK? No vomiting?
Reply:I agree with Alicia.

Give yourself peace of mind and have a CBC as well
Reply:Take a look at her front paws. She could have been injured during a cat fight and is trying to heal herself. I wouldn%26#039;t want to go back out side either if I was injured.

Take her to the vet. She may have lost a nail. You wouldn%26#039;t want en infection.

Those are the chances you take when you let your cat out.

Good Luck
